Sergio Coster, USA1962 When I was 18 and living in Porto Alegre, Brazil, I was lucky enough to go to the United States with a scholarship of American Field Service (AFS). The year was 1961 and I was scheduled to live with a Jewish family in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. Which I did, fitting well with the Schloff family – the parents and their three boys. During this time I was in correspondence with Shirley Mosner and she invited me to go to stay with them in Nanuet during Christmas vacation. I secured an unusual permit from the Schloffs and from AFS to travel to NY and so I was the first one to connect the Brazilian and the American branches of the Pessach family after more than 50 years. It was then that I got to know Shirley and David Mosner, their children; Great Uncle Sol and Lisa Passick; Irving and Naomi Passick and their children; and Marvin and Sylvia Passick and their two boys. Three sisters

Today I'll pay a tribute to the 3 daughters of Alberto and Berta Peissahk. One of them is my mother. Rosa, the elder, Marieta, the second one, and Ester, the younger, were born in 4 years intervals. Their stories have misteries and facts we don't know clearly until now. In this picture, Berta is with her 3 daughters in Brazil, as we see in a beautiful hand coloured studio picture. Berta used to sew the daughter's dresses and we can conclude she also made her own gown. Marieta and Ester have the same model dress, clearly hand made. In the pictures below, the three sisters Rosa, Marieta and Ester in different dates. Wearing the same dress model... Rosa, the elder, was born in London, in 30th June of 1926.  A document  obtained in London archives tells that she was born at home and her name originally was Minnie, the same as her grandmother. She hated the name Minnie, and in some moment we don't know exactly when, she turned to the name of Ro...

Faermann family

Foto enviada para mim pelo Sergio Faermann, nosso primo que mora em Israel.  Shown: Zelig Faermann, his son Mauricio, his daughter Esther and his second wife Maria.  Goldie Pessach passed away very young, at age 28, and left Zelig with two small children. Zelig married Maria, who raised the children from that young age. She did not have children of her own.  Sergio Coster
